TripAdviser features

Design solution that allows users to easily group their saved tiles into a desired category.

The “Saved Trips” feature currently works in the following way:

When viewing a particular TripAdvisor result, users can click “Save” to add the element to their “Saved Trips” list.
Once the user has saved one or more results, their full list of “Saved Trips” is accessible through their account dropdown.
Upon accessing their “Saved Trips” page, users can view and manage their saved items, which are automatically sorted by location.
There is currently no way for users to organize saved trip tiles into custom categories within a location. Rather, all saved trip tiles are shown in the order in which they were saved. This results in a page of saved items that is not optimized for more specific trip planners.
Based on user testing, TripAdvisor has noticed users coping with this lack of custom categorization by utilizing the “My Notes” section. Users have been adding notes to each saved tile as a “hacky” way to tag it as a particular category.
